My Father and Son – Babam ve Oglum

Sadik (Fikret Kuskan) is a young journalist who lives in the troubled Turkey of the ’70s. In the early hours of the 1980 Coup d’état his wife goes into labor. Unable to find a hospital, his wife dies during childbirth. Years later, he returns to the village where he grew up with his son Deniz (Ege Tanman) and tries to resolve the old disagreements with his father Huseyin (Çetin Tekindor).

Winter Sleep – Kis Uykusu

Aydin (Haluk Bilginer) is a rich intellectual who runs a small hotel in Anatolia. He lives with his wife Nihal (Melisa Sözen) and his sister Necla (Demet Akbag). In winter, with few guests and not much to do, the animosities between them begin to grow, revealing the troubled relationship they maintain.

Lovelorn – Gönül Yarasi

The teacher Nazim (Sener Sen) retires and returns to Istanbul after 15 years. He rents a house and while he doesn’t receive his pension, he works as a taxi driver. At work, he meets Dünya (Meltem Cumbul), a young singer and single mother. After helping her to escape her abusive husband, Nazim takes Dünya and her daughter to his house. While trying to keep the woman and her daughter safe, he has to resolve his relationship with his children.

The Breath – Nefes: Vatan Sagolsun

The film show us the daily lives of Turkish soldiers who are isolated in a small patrol station in the middle of the remote mountains in eastern Turkey. There, as well as being treated by the terrorists of PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party), the soldiers have to deal with their own fears, resentments and regrets.

Zerre

Zeynep (Jale Arikan) is a young woman who has to take care of her mother and daughter by herself, while unemployed. The only person who helps her is Remzi (Remzi Pamukcu) that gives her food from the restaurant where he works. During the chaos of unemployment, she is forced to make difficult decisions in order to sustain her family.
